History

The ACC Archives has been in existence since the opening of the college in 1965. From that time, the Archives has maintained a collection of photos, newspaper clippings, college publications such as newspapers and newsletters, annual reports, planning documents, meeting minutes, and other materials that document the administrative, legal, fiscal, and historical life of the college. The ACC Archive is housed in the Library and Learning Commons and is maintained by the Head Reference and Instruction Librarian who also serves as ACC's archivist.

Research and Use

Archival materials are available for research by ACC staff, faculty, students and the community. Researchers need to make an appointment and fill out a request form in person, by telephone or e-mail. We ask that you have a specific research purpose for which you intend to use the collection, and the Library must approve this before access is granted. The archivist also accepts research requests. Again, approval must be granted before the request can be filled. Archival materials do not circulate and must be used under supervised conditions. Reference procedures are designed to ensure the preservation of the records for future researchers. If you would like to browse what is available in our archive please use the Finding Aids collection. Our Finding Aids are a small part of the archival collection and we are adding them as we process individual collections so check back often!

Donating to the Archive

The ACC archive collects copies of published works, manuscripts, and any ACC related materials. Students, faculty, staff and alumni are all welcome to donate. Your collections have the potential to provide valuable historical information for future researchers. The process of donating is simple, and the librarian/archivist will be happy to help you. Please use the contact us page on the left to send us your inquiry or questions about donating.
